Enjoy Smoother, More Radiant Skin Through Dermaplaning.

$90

With all the not-so-great things your skin is exposed to on a daily basis, like UV rays, environmental pollutants, and other things, the outer layer of your skin can eventually appear dull and rough. If that’s the case for you and you’re ready for a simple, yet effective way to add some life back to your skin, then you may want to consider dermaplaning. This skin-boosting technique involves the use of a special blade to gently scrape the dull outer layers of skin along with vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) to reveal a smoother, healthier complexion. It’s become a popular skin-boosting option for people in Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati area for a quick, effective treatment.

How does dermaplaning work?

This noninvasive treatment involves a special precision blade that’s gently moved back and forth over the skin by a trained aesthetic professional. The blade effectively scrapes off the superficial layers of dead skin and peach fuzz to uncover the smoother skin just below the surface. The overall concept is similar to shaving, but dermaplaning offers much greater benefits. Far more dead skin cells and fine hair are whisked away compared to regular shaving.

Am I a candidate for dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a generally low-risk procedure, so it can be a great option for many people who want a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. But it’s not for everyone. Dermaplaning usually isn’t the best option for people with inflammatory skin conditions, including:

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Rosacea
  • Psoriasis
  • Rashes
  • Sunburn

We’ll evaluate your skin, discuss your goals, and help you determine if dermaplaning is right for you at your consultation.

Dermaplaning
Are there any side effects with dermaplaning?
When done by a trained professional (like the ones at Skin Esteem), there is little to no irritation in the treated area. Some potential short-term side effects, however, may include mild redness or swelling, some slight tenderness, or a light tingling sensation that lasts for a day or two. If effects like these are experienced, they’re usually mild and go away fairly quickly.  There’s a common misconception that the removed hair from dermaplaning will grow back darker and thicker, but this is a rare occurrence that most people don’t experience.
How many dermaplaning sessions will I need?
Some people choose multiple dermaplaning treatments to achieve desired results, but be aware that it’s important for your skin to completely heal between each session. We’ll go over all those details at your consultation.
What are the results I can expect from dermaplaning?
Immediately after your dermaplaning treatment, you’ll likely notice a somewhat brighter, smoother complexion. It usually takes a few days for the optimal benefits to shine through, however. Dermaplaning can potentially scrape away dead skin that’s accumulated for up to three weeks. You can enjoy your results for about three weeks to a month, at which time you can schedule another session if your provider agrees your skin is ready.
