Rejuvenate Your Skin at a Cellular Level with Microneedling
Starting at $650
When it comes to minimally invasive skin rejuvenation, it doesn’t get much better than microneedling. This popular skin treatment often produces amazing results for people of all skin types by utilizing a series of tiny needles. What makes these needles so special lies in their ability to rev up your skin’s own natural collagen production. Collagen is essentially the building block of firm, youthful-looking skin, but it becomes much less plentiful with age. Microneedling helps fill in the gaps and provide an effective platform for collagen-cranking benefits that’ll have you falling in love with your skin all over again. Our patients in Northern Kentucky and the greater Cincinnati area can’t seem to get enough of microneedling!
How does microneedling work to boost collagen and rejuvenate skin?
Microneedling treatments involve the use of a small handheld device featuring a series of extremely fine needles. These tiny needles are designed to safely penetrate the outer layers of skin to produce micro-injuries that are virtually invisible to the naked eye. What that does is stimulate the body’s natural healing process, which involves producing new elastin and collagen, the essential proteins found abundantly in youthful, healthy skin.
Microneedling treatments are quite versatile as they can easily be combined with other treatments to maximize the beautiful benefits. At Skin Esteem, we offer the option of pairing microneedling with restorative human growth factors, which is derived from your own blood and can really take your rejuvenated results to the next level. This is also a great option for hair restoration.

Which areas of the skin can microneedling be used to treat?
Microneedling can be used on several different areas, the most common being:
- Scalp (for hair restoration)
While these are the most common areas for treatment, microneedling can also be used on other areas of the body where skin improvement is desired, such as legs, arms, abdomen, and back.
What is microneedling used to treat?
- Uneven skin tone/texture
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Areas of hyperpigmentation
- Enlarged pores
- Sun damage
- Acne scars
- Surgical/injury scars
- Stretch marks
- And more!
What is a microneedling treatment like?
First thing’s first, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for optimum comfort. Then, we’ll move the microneedling device gently across your skin in very specific motions. You’ll feel a slight pricking sensation during this part, but most people tolerate it very well. If chosen as part of your treatment, any nourishing serums will then be applied…which are very easily absorbed by the treated skin for maximum effectiveness.
Does microneedling have any side effects?
In most cases, microneedling sessions carry minimal side effects and don’t require any downtime. Mild swelling and redness of the treatment area are common and typically go away in a day or two. There are minimal risks of scarring or infection, but those are rare…especially when you have a trained provider.
When will I notice the results of my microneedling session?
A lot of people notice some improvement right after their treatment. But it keeps getting better as continued improvement unfolds in the days and weeks following treatment. That’s because your skin’s collagen production kicks into high gear, leading to that beautiful, refreshed look.
How many microneedling treatments will I need?
Though one treatment sometimes achieves the desired result, we’ve found that the most dramatic improvements typically take about three treatments, which we usually schedule about 30 days apart. During your consultation at Skin Esteem, we’ll talk about your individual goals and develop a customized treatment plan to fit your needs.
